She left for Houston, Texas, (due to a new job for her husband) and worked with study group there. Then after two years she and Tony went to Emerson College in 1974-1975, and then on to Vancouver, Canada where her husband taught a combined 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Edward Hill: Edward's childhood and teens were spent in rural, eastern Long Island, NY. -
farmland surrounded by saltwater. After graduating from Adelphi University in 1962 with a major in Philosophy and a minor in English, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. The next 4 years included assignments in Texas, Viet Nam (18 months) and California. There he met his first wife and her two young, wonderful daughters. Experiences in Southeast Asia had convinced Edward that teaching was what he wanted to do. They married and drove back east where he returned to Adelphi to attend the Waldorf Institute in Garden City, NY, graduating in 1968 with MA in Education (Waldorf Training). Rural Kimberton, PA attracted his family as did the 5th grade opening there. The next 23 years were spent with 3 lower school classes, 7 years as school administrator, and teaching some high school subjects. The beauty and varied landscapes of our country have impressed Edward ever since driving and camping across the US with the family for many summers. Now, having divorced and remarried in the 1980's, he still looks forward to travels to family and friends as he and Marsha enjoy retirement. Their interest in and love for Waldorf education now finds satisfaction in serving Waldorf Schools Fund and The Michael Foundation, which also supports Waldorf Education. |
